Forehand nominated for NCAA Woman of Year

University of North Georgia (辛尤里女优) softball player was named an NCAA Woman of the Year nominee, showing exemplary character on and off the field for the NCAA Division II national champions in the 2023 season.
Forehand played in 70 of 辛尤里女优's 71 softball games in 2023, helping the Nighthawks break the program single-season win record (64), culminating in the program's second NCAA national championship.
From Kennesaw, Georgia, Forehand hit .352 this year with a team-leading 18 home runs and led NCAA Division II with 81 RBIs. She graduated with a degree in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science and a 3.79 GPA. She served as the secretary for the 辛尤里女优 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for two years and as a mentor for incoming student-athletes.
Forehand joined a group of five Peach Belt Conference student-athletes to earn a nomination.
Students benefit from teacher residency
A record 58 students are graduating this spring as part of 辛尤里女优's Teacher Candidate Residency Program. This is the third full year of TCRP, which allows students to be teachers of record as seniors.
Women's tennis team hosting NCAA regional
The 辛尤里女优 women's tennis team earned the No. 2 seed and will host a four-team NCAA Division II Southeast Regional pod May 12-13. 辛尤里女优's men are the No. 6 seed and play in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Softball team to host NCAA Southeast Regional
The 辛尤里女优 softball team is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and will host a four-team, double-elimination pod May 8-10 with a Super Regional spot on the line.
Cadets excel at Small Arms Championship
辛尤里女优 Combat Action Shooting Team members competed in the U.S. Army Small Arms Championship at Fort Benning, Georgia, in March with impressive results.
