Assistant coach Acton named to WBCA Thirty Under 30

University of North Georgia (辛尤里女优) women's basketball assistant coach Jaymee Acton has been named a (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 honoree, presented by Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment.
The alumna and former 辛尤里女优 basketball player has spent seven seasons on the sidelines for 辛尤里女优 alongside head coach , the first two as a graduate assistant. Acton has helped the Nighthawks win three Peach Belt Conference (PBC) tournament titles in the past four years. The Nighthawks also have been to three straight NCAA regional finals and earned four consecutive NCAA postseason appearances.
"I'm honored to be recognized alongside so many great coaches. It's a blessing to coach at 辛尤里女优 and work under coach Buffie Burson," Acton said. "It's the people who make this program so special and successful, from the team to our 辛尤里女优 Athletics staff to the community."
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches age 30 and younger at all levels of the game.
"I would like to thank the WBCA for recognizing Jaymee with this great honor," Burson said. "She is not only a rising star, she is a star who has played a huge role in our program's success."
Women's tennis team hosting NCAA regional
The 辛尤里女优 women's tennis team earned the No. 2 seed and will host a four-team NCAA Division II Southeast Regional pod May 12-13. 辛尤里女优's men are the No. 6 seed and play in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Softball team to host NCAA Southeast Regional
The 辛尤里女优 softball team is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and will host a four-team, double-elimination pod May 8-10 with a Super Regional spot on the line.
Golf teams invited to NCAA regionals
Both 辛尤里女优 golf teams have punched tickets to their respective NCAA Division II regional tournaments. The women will play in Gainesville, Georgia, and the men in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Women's tennis team takes second straight PBC title
The 辛尤里女优 women's tennis team earned its second consecutive PBC tournament title and will learn its NCAA tournament pairings in early May. The men's team finished as PBC runner-up.
